Warranty / Return & Exchange Policy
STANDARD ONE-YEAR WARRANTY
Unless otherwise noted, Universal Electronics Inc. (“UEI”) warrants that all products distributed through this Site (“Product(s)”) will be free of defect in materials or workmanship for the period of one (1) year (“Standard Warranty”). The one-year Standard Warranty begins from the date of shipment of Product from a UEI facility to the customer (“Warranty Period”). The Standard Warranty covers only defects arising under normal use and does not include malfunctions or failures resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, alteration, problems with electrical power, usage not in accordance with product instructions, acts of nature, or improper repairs made by anyone other than UEI or a UEI authorized third-party service provider.
RISK-FREE 30 DAY RETURN POLICY
UEI is confident that you will be happy with the Products. If you are unsatisfied with the Product purchased through this Site for any reason, you may return the Product to UEI for a full refund within thirty (30) days from the date of the Product invoice (“Return Period”). Prior to returning the Product, you must notify UEI in writing by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org and obtain a written return authorization. You will be responsible for the cost of shipping. Products are only eligible for refund if: (i) it shows no signs of wear and tear, damages, or misuse; and (ii) it is packaged in its original package. Once the Return Period has passed, you may only return the Products to UEI in accordance to the procedures set forth below during the Warranty Period if there is a defect of the Product.
WARRANTY CLAIMS, PROCEDURES AND EXCLUSIONS
During the Warranty Period, your sole and exclusive remedy for any breach of the Standard Warranty will be, at UEIs sole discretion and option, (i) the repair or replacement of the defective product, or (ii) the refund of the purchase price. Products that you claim to be defective must be available to UEI for inspection and evaluation. To be entitled to rights under the Standard Warranty, you must notify UEI in writing by sending an e-mail to email@example.com within thirty (30) days after discovering a suspected defect in the Product. Following its receipt of any such notice, UEI will determine whether the reported problem is covered by the Standard Warranty. Subject to final screening of the actual Product, if UEI determines that the problem is covered, UEI will authorize repair or replacement of the defective product, or a refund of the purchase price, as deemed appropriate by UEI in its sole discretion.
Before shipping any Product back to UEI, you must obtain a written return authorization from UEI, and provide any proof of warranty eligibility requested by UEI (such as copy of original invoice). Any product received by UEI without a return authorization may, at UEIs option, be returned to you collect. Once a return authorization is obtained, you are responsible for packing and shipping the Product to a service facility designated by UEI at your own expense (unless otherwise agreed or authorized by UEI), within thirty (30) days after receipt of the return authorization. All returned Products will be subject to screening. If UEI determines that the Product is not defective or is not covered by the Standard Warranty due to any reason, it will be returned to you at your expense.
UEI does not warrant or guarantee, and is not responsible for defects, failures, damages or performance limitations caused in whole or in part by: (i) power failures, surges, fires, floods, snow, ice, lightning, excessive heat or cold, highly corrosive environments, accidents, or actions of third parties; (ii) abuse, mishandling, misuse, negligence, improper storage, servicing or operation, or unauthorized attempts to repair or alter the Product; or (iii) malfunction of third-party equipment or accessories connected to the Products. Alterations and/or modifications to any part of the Products, without UEI’s written authorization shall unconditionally void the Standard Warranty.
THE FOREGOING STANDARD WARRANTY IS THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTIES BY UEI WITH RESPECT TO THE PRODUCTS. THERE ARE NO OTHER REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, EXCEPT AS REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE LAW. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES REQUIRED BY LAW ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO WARRANTY PERIOD PROVIDED HEREIN. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
IN NO EVENT SHALL UEI OR ANY OF ITS AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR MULTIPLE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, LOST PROFITS, LOST OR DAMAGE TO SOFTWARE OR DATA, OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF ANY PRODUCT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THIS STANDARD WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS, WHICH MAY VARY FROM STATE TO STATE. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
